INTENSE Program Chinese Course

The Mandarin preparatory course at our overseas base is designed specifically for students in the preparatory class, with a curriculum that builds Mandarin language skills from the ground up. Starting from zero, it progressively develops students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities to a level that supports accurate and fluent daily communication. For students in non-Mandarin-speaking regions, the course aims to spark interest in learning Mandarin, foster a mindset of active engagement, and begin with level one and two preparatory courses. This foundation prepares students to advance to beginner-level courses, equipping students with essential Mandarin skills.

The primary goal is to prepare students for further studies in Taiwan and to achieve the TOCFL A2 certificate. The course employs the "Learning Mandarin" textbooks, volumes 1 to 4, with completion of the third volume roughly equivalent to the TOCFL A1 level. This program spans about 54 weeks, totaling 188 hours, primarily delivered in-person, though online classes may be added to accommodate the needs of local students. To support independent study, the program incorporates the "SS Full Self-study" system, encouraging self-guided learning to strengthen listening and reading skills, particularly for students in non-Mandarin-speaking areas.

Objectives and Description Using "Let's Learn Mandarin Book 1," consisting of 11 lessons (4 hours per lesson), and another 2hours for Exam. This course aims to build interest in Mandarin from a zero foundation (Mandarin 101) to the preparatory level. Following the sequence of listening and speaking before reading, the course process includes warm-up reviews, vocabulary, grammar, text dialogues (repetition, reading), dialogue listening, comprehensive practice (dialogue), quizzes, and homework discussions.
